"Spirits of the Ancients"

Sandstone formations of Bryce Canyon, captured at sunrise.  Native Americans refer to these hoodoo formations as the "spirits of their ancestors", and it is easy to imagine these massive stone pillars as wise sages, huddled in small groups, discussing and lamenting.  Some of these wonderful structures have striking human characteristics, and give one the sense that, when one walks in Bryce Canyon, one does not travel alone.
